Fort Denison
Fort Denison was constructed in 1857 to protect Sydney.
The tower of this fort was hit in May 1942 by a salvo of the American cruiser USS Chicago in an attempt to hit a Japanese submarine that entered Sydney Harbour. The damage of the impact is still visible today.
