Commonwealth War Graves General Cemetery Wijk bij Duurstede

The Briste graves at the General Cemetery in Wijk bij Duurstede are of 7 British soldiers of the 1st Airborne Division who were involved in the fighting during Operation Market Garden in the autumn 1944 (specific to the Battle of Arnhem). The bodies of these soldiers were founded in 1944 in the floodplains of Wijk bij Duurstede.

The text on the plaque near the entrance:
In this cemetery rest the remains of 7 British Soldier of the 1st Airborne Division.
In the autumn of 1944 they gave their lives to liberate the Netherlands from nazi-tyranny.
