Dambusters Inn

The Dambusters Inn, established in 1999 by Mike and Amanda Knight, was the first pub in the village of Scampton, Lincolnshire. With both support and some resistance from locals, the Knights created a WW2-themed pub, filled with artefacts and memorabilia, aptly named after the Dambusters.

When Mike retired, his personal collection, which had decorated the pub, was removed. The new owner Greg Algar rebuild the collection while revitalising the pub. Today, he proudly run a thriving village pub, adorned with memorabilia commemorating the extraordinary events of May 16–17 1943.

Nearby, RAF Scampton was the home base of the 617 Squadron. The base was used to attack the Ruhr Dams.
