Niederense War Memorial

Memorial chapel in the form of a podium with a cross on the roof. On the wall hang the Iron Cross and memorial plaques with the names of the fallen soldiers and citizens of the municipality of Niederense.

This monument commemorates the inhabitants of Niederense who died during the Franco-German War and the World Wars. The list includes three victims of the Möhne catastrophe resulting from the breakthrough of the Möhne Dam on 17 May 1943 by Lancaster bombers.
