Memorial Flood Victims Möhne 17 May 1943

After the flooding caused by the breach of the Möhne Dam on 17 May 1943, the search for the wounded and the recovery of the dead began in Neheim. The partially unrecognizable bodies were taken to St. John's Church in order to identify them if possible. The deceased forced laborers were buried in mass graves in the cemetery of Möhne.
