ANZAC refers to a soldier in the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (1914-1918).
The artists' research for this sculpture uncovered historic photographs of the cargo
that the ANZAC fleets carried. One photograph from Egypt(c1915) shows an ANZAC
hand feeding a kangaroo. The kangaroos and kiwis depicted in the hold of this ship
represent the Australian and New Zealand troops."
