Fleet Monument Kembang Kuning

The Fleet Monument at the Dutch Field of Honour Kembang Kuning in Surabaya commemorates the 356 crew members of Dutch naval vessels who died during the Second World War in the former Dutch East Indies between 8 December 1941 and 9 March 1942 and whose final resting place remains unknown.

The monument consists of a white memorial wall placed on a natural stone base with a natural stone bench incorporated into it. Six bronze plaques bearing the names of the sailors who died aboard nineteen naval vessels are affixed to the front. An information board with background information hangs in the centre.
