The Wilhelminakerk (Wilhelmina Church) is a reformed church designed by architect Tjeerd Kuipers.
The church was built in a rationalist style, with neo-Romanesque shapes. The church has a round shape. The stained glass windows were made by the stained glass artist Wim Korteweg from Dordrecht. The church has been a municipal monument since 15 January 2010.
Rev. Slomp, who was known as "Frits de Zwerver" as a resistance fighter and an elder of Dordrecht, called for vigilance against the Germans in 1943.
In his sermon he lashed out with words such as: “Then Satan fell like lightning” (about 10 May 1940). “National Socialism is pure paganism and must be fought with all our strength, it is thoroughly godless.” and “If a Jew or person in hiding knocks on your door tonight and asks for shelter for Christ’s sake, you will shelter him.”
Because some members of the Wilhelmina Church played a role in the resistance during World War II, the Wilhelmina Church was also known as the resistance church after the war.
In the church there is a stained glass plaque by glass artist Wim Korteweg with the names of victims of the war.
