Site of the first cross: The Croix des Charmes

The Croix des Carmes, originally a simple wooden cross in the Bois le Prêtre, became a scene of heavy fighting.
To protect the cross, French soldiers moved it to a cemetery (Le Petant) and returned it to its original location after the war.
