"HMS FERVENT
Coastal Forces of World War II
This plaque commemorates the men and
women of Allied Coastal Forces who served
with the Royal Navy at HMS Fervent,
Ramsgate between 1939 and 1945.
From here Motor Torpedo Boats, Motor
Gunboats and Motor Launches carried out
vital operations against enemy naval forces
and protected British shipping in the Channel
and North Sea. Many gave their lives,
their skill and courage making a valuable
contribution to the success of the war at sea.
