Trypiti Beach

On the night of June 23–24, 1942, commandos George Jellicoe and Kostis Petrakis escaped by naval vessel (HMS "Porcupine") via this beach to Marsa Matruh, Egypt. The rest of their SAS commando unit had been killed or captured.

In June 1943, "A Patrol" (Operation Faculty II - Albumen) disembarked here in June 1943. They were transported by ML 355.
