Unveiled and dedicated in 1922, this memorial designed by architect Sir Ninian Cooper depicts St George slaying the Dragon encircled by a gilded wreath and ribbons. The image of St, George is traditionally a symbol of good overcoming evil. Below the figure of St George are nine columns listing the names of the 334 men from the Parish of St. Saviours who lost their lives in the Great War.
