Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie - Garsterpolder
The Gasterpolder could be inundated in times of need, thus forming a single basin with the Hoekerpolder and Oostzijdse Polder. The Merwede Canal intersected the Garsterpolder, with inlets in both quays for water supply.
