Command Post 2-22 R.A. Rectory IJzendoorn

During the May days of 1940, this building, the rectory of IJzendoorn, housed the command post of the 2nd Division, 22nd Artillery Regiment.

On May 9, 1940, at 11:45 PM, this unit, consisting of three batteries, received the order to take up positions. Around 3:50 AM on May 10, 1940, they were ready to fire.

On May 10, 1940, at approximately 8:30 PM, they received the order to abandon their positions and move to the hamlet of Aalst. Around 6:30 AM on May 11, 1940, they were ready to fire again. This also led to the command post being moved towards the hamlet of Aalst.

This unit was commanded by Major J. Best.
