Aid Post 1-22 R.A.

This farmhouse was built in 1938 and, in May 1940, was set up as a so-called "aid post," or a wounded shelter, for the defense sector of the 1st Division, 22nd Artillery Regiment. This unit had been assigned this section of the Betuwe Line in May 1940.

Wounded soldiers could be transported from this aid post to a first aid station by stretcher or vehicle. A first aid station was located approximately 2 kilometers behind each regiment's defense line.
