War Memorial Meux

The war memorial in the cemetery of Meux commemorates the military victims of the First World War.

Inscription on the monument:
“PRO PATRIA
1914 - 1918”

The names on the monument:
GILLES Marcel, soldier 3rd Artillery, Kaaskerke 12 May 1916
MICHAUX Jules, brigadier 10th Artillery, Boezinge 3 July 1917
HERSON Maurice, corporal 1st Carabiniers, Hoogstade 19 October 1916

On the back of the monument are five names, probably these are veterans of the First World War.

After the Second World War, a plaque was added at the foot of the monument with the names of the victims of that war.
