Memorial deported civilian at Romsée

In the cemetery of Romsée there is a monument erected on behalf of the municipality of Romsée in memory of;

GATHOT René, age unknown, who was deported to Germany but never returned. He died during his imprisonment.

It is unclear whether he was a forced laborer with the Arbeitseinsatz, or whether René belonged to a persecuted minority that was deported to a concentration camp.

He is also commemorated on the memorial stones at the town hall of Romsée.
