Drop Redoubt Dover
Work on the Drop Redoubt commenced during the Napoleonic Wars and it was connected to the other main fortification on Western Heights, The Citadel. It was extensively enlarged and modified in 1860's to protect the Port of Dover from attack by French forces landing along the coast and attacking inland.
