Command Post 3-1-26 R.I.
During the May days of 1940, this house housed the command post of the 3rd Company, 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment. 3-1-26 R.I. was tasked with defending this sector of the Maas-Waal Canal.
The commander of this unit was Captain Dr. J. Postma. Captain Postma was killed in action on May 10, 1940.
