French Military Cemetery Saint-Pierre

The national necropolis of Amiens, “Saint-Pierre,” collects the remains of soldiers who died for France in the battles of the Somme. The cemetery was built from 1921 to 1934 to regroup the bodies that were exhumed from military cemeteries and communal cemeteries in Amiens, Dury, and la Madeleine. The cemetery holds nearly 1,400 bodies of French soldiers who died from their wounds in military hospitals and twenty-five bodies of Belgian soldiers who died during the First World War.
