Memorials Cemetery Alleur

To the left of the entrance to the Alleur cemetery are three small monuments erected in 2012 to commemorate the liberation of Alleur (September 1944) during World War II by the US Army.

In particular, they commemorate the units of the

3rd Armored Division

298th General Hospital University of Michigan, which treated 22,983 patients here between November 1944 and September 1945.

143rd Anti Aircraft Artillery Gun Bn, which protected the town of Loncin after its liberation.

Diagonally opposite the cemetery, there is also a memorial built into the wall. This also commemorates the fact that the 298th General Hospital University of Michigan was located here in the field to the northwest.
