Memorial Crashsite P47D Thunderbolt 44-19735
On September 18, 1944, First Lieutenant John E. Cave was killed in his P47D Thunderbolt during a mission near Aachen. His plane was hit behind the cockpit and crashed in Aalbeek. John E. Cave is buried at Arlington National Cemetery in the United States.
