* THEODORA HEMELRIJK-COHEN (born 1887, interned 9-4-1943 Vught, deported 25-5-1943 from Westerbork, murdered 28-5-1943 Sobibor)
* HIJMAN HEMELRIJK (born 1921, interned 9-4-1943 Vught, deported 6-7-1943 from Westerbork, murdered 9-7-1943 Sobibor)
* LODEWIJK HEMELRIJK (born 1923, interned 9-4-1943 Vught, deported 6-7-1943 from Westerbork, murdered 9-7-1943 Sobibor)
* JACOBINE KLEJNMAN (born 1922, deported 24-11-1942 from Westerbork, murdered 27-11-1942 Auschwitz)

These Stolpersteine are laid here for Jewish war victims who were persecuted, deported and murdered during the Second World War.

"Stolpersteine” is an art project for Europe by Gunter Demnig to commemorate victims of National Socialism (Nazism). Stolpersteine (stumbling stones) are small, 10x10cm brass plaques placed in the sidewalk in front of a known residence of (usually Jewish) victims of the Nazis. Each plaque is provided with the victim’s, date of birth, and fate. By doing this, Gunter Demnig gives an individual memorial to each victim. One stone, one name, one person. He cites the Talmud: “A human being is forgotten only when his or her name is forgotten.”
