Maginot Line - Casemate Rountzenheim Nord

This large casemate was built in 1932 as part of the Secteur Fortifié de Haguenau of the Maginot Line. The casemate inaccessible due to a large number of thorns, brambles and undergrowth surrounding the location. The casemate is connected to Rountzenheim Sud via a short tunnel under the railway line. The armament consisted of a 37mm anti-tank gun, two twin machine guns and a fixed (GFM) turret.
