Fort Trois Communes

This fort was defended by elements of the 34. Infanterie-Division and German mountain troops against the advancing Free French army in April 1945. It was captured by the French on 12 April 1945. 38 German soldiers were taken prison. The damage from the battle on the fort is still visible today.
