Maginot Line - Ouvrage Laudrefang

The ouvrage Laudrefang is part of the Secteur Fortifié de Faulquemont. The garrison consisted of 267 soldiers and 8 officers of the 156th RIF. Between 21 and 25 June 1940, the ouvrage provided fire support to the neighboring ouvrages Einseling and Teting. An estimated 5,000 81mm shells were fired. Despite the German shelling that caused a lot of damage, the ouvrage fought until the armistice on June 24, 1940.

Since 2008, an association has been involved in the restoration of block 3, which can be visited on special occasions.
