War Memorial Eethen

The War Memorial in Eethen commemorates 31 residents of Eethen who died because of the Second World War.

Two were killed during May 1940.
Three died as members of the resistance.
Three died in Germany.
21 were civilian casualties of the battle in 1944 and 1945.
One died in the merchant navy.
One died in Indonesia.

Killed in 1944 and 1945: J. Osnabrugge, R. Spoor, H. Bekkema, M. van der Stelt, J.G. van Mersbergen, A. de Joode, J.M. de Joode, G.J. Hartgens, P. de Jong, J. van Tilborg, A.C. de Joode, P.M. van Enkhuizen, J. van Andel, A. de Jong, A.P. Lankhaar, A.O. van Tilborg, C. van Tilborg, P. van der Mooren, P. van Koijck, K. van Wijk, A. van Wijk and C.B. van der Kolk.

Killed in the Merchant Navy: A. van Houwelingen.

Killed on May 4, 1949 in Boemiajoe in the former Dutch East Indies: A.A. van der Kolk. [/ i]

There is a street in Eethen named after C. Branderhorst and A.A. van der Kolk and in Genderen named after D. Oegema.
