Commonwealth War Graves Municipal Cemetery Winkel

At the Municipal Cemetery in Winkel are six Commonwealth War Graves. It is a communal grave of the crew of the Vickers Wellington 1C P9286 KO-K of the 115 Squ. Left from RAF Marham base on 16-11-1940 and shot down at 02.05 hours (17-11-1940) by Kommandofúhrer Oblt. Zur Lippe. The Wellington crashed in the Groetpolder near Winkel on the way back from a raid on Hamburg.
