Memorial Dr. S. Wartena Weesp
In a park in Weesp is a Memorial, a bench with a plaque, to Dr. S. Wartena, he was a doctor in Weesp. In the bombing of the Merwede bridge in Driemond on 18-3-1945 he was wounded and died as a result.

The bench was designed by Kors Breijer. He was a municipal architect and director of the Weesp municipal works at the time. Several of his buildings can be seen in Weesp.
