Memorial Konstantinos Koukidis

At the Acropolis is a memorial in memory of Konstantinos Koukidis.

Konstantinos Koukidis held on 27 April 1941 the flag guard duty near the Acropolis. When German troops arrived, they ordered to raise the German flag on top of the Acropolis. Together with the Greek flag, he jumped from the hill and committed suicide.

Konstantinos Koukidis was seen as the pioneer from the Greek resistance.
