War Memorial Oostwold (Old)

The war memorial commemorates all fellow citizens who died as a result of acts of war during the occupation years.

On the stone is the following text:

WARS AND OCCUPANCY TIME
1940-1945

The Jewish monument commemorates the Jewish community of Oostwold who did not return from the concentration and extermination camps in Eastern Europe. The vast majority of Jewish families who lived in Oostwold until the 1940s were killed by the Nazis.
