NSB-graves Roermond

On the cemetery "Begraafplaats Nabij de Kapel in ‘t Zand", at the plot "Verloren Kerkhof (Lost Churchyard)" is an original NSB-grave from World War II. The NSB was the Dutch National Socialist Movement which collaborated with the Germans. These graves are very rare, most were destroyed or changes after World War II and many members decided to be buried in a neutral grave.

Close to the grave monument of Leendert Willem de Leeuw in the cemetery near the Kapel in 't Zand in Roermond is another NSB grave, one of Willibrordus Albertus Hetterscheid. Hetterscheid was Circle Leader of the NSB in Central Limburg, and also mayor of Baexem and Grathem. Hetterscheid was liquidated by the resistance at the time in his home on 29-3-1943.

This grave is not provided with a stone or the like and is located right next to the lost cemetery, so close to the grave of Leendert Willem de Leeuw.
