Memorial Kapišová Tank Battle

This memorial is in memory of the heavy tank battle which took place here from 25 to 27 October 1944. The memorial consists of of a German Panzer IV and a soviet T-34/85 that drives over its German opponent. The Red Army succeeded to eliminate most of the German tanks and German positions. But for this a high price was paid: All of the Soviets tanks that were involved in the battle had been destroyed by mines or enemy artillery barrages.
