Lochnagar Crater

During the Battle of the Somme on 1 July 1916, the Lochnager mine was blown up resulting in this crater. A memorial for those who fell here on 1 July 1916.

Small commemorative plaques, commemorating the fallen or veterans of the First World War, have been placed on almost all the treads of the footpath around the Lochnagar Crater.
