Overlord Museum

Located at a short distance from the famous "Omaha Beach", on the D514 facing the roundabout that provides access to the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-mer. Overlord Museum chronicles the period of the Allied landing until the liberation of Paris, but also gives short information on the war years before that.

The collection was collected by Michel Leloup (1929-2011), who was both a witness to the conflict and involved in the reconstruction of Normandy. Personal items from individual soldiers and armoured fighting vehicles from the six armies in Normandy are presented as a series of reconstructions showing over 35 vehicles, tanks and guns. In the museum are Sherman tanks, but also a PzKpfw V Panther and a PzKpfw IV.

This museum was as of 1987 based in Falaise, but was opened on the 5th of June 2013 on this location.

For current visiting hours, please visit the website of the museum.
