Trenchsystem on the Hexenstein/Sasso di Stria

This 2.477 mountain was a very strategic point on the Valparola pass and gives a good overview of the battlefield of the Valporola and Falzarego passes.
This spot saw heavy fighting from 1915 to 1917 but it remained in Austrian hands.

Still the trenches are in very good condition. It's about an hour hiking to the top from the fort Tre Sassi. This walk is for advanced hikers.
