War Memorial 'The Child' Wemmel

In 1961 a war memorial was erected in front of the castle of Wemmel, after a design by the sculptor Idel Ianchelevici (1909-1994). The monument, called 'The Child', commemorates the fallen soldiers of the First and the Second World War. The artwork consists of a bronze image of a naked woman and child on a white, natural stone base.
