Oelegem Fortress

This concrete armoured fort was built from 1909 to 1914. The fort was not directly involved in the battles in 1914 and 1940, but the Germans used it throughout World War I. In World war II, after the liberation of Antwerp on 4 September 1944, the fort was used as communication-centre for the allied airdefense against the V1-attacks on Antwerp.
