Former Working Camp Wernigerode

This camp was in April 1941 a work camp for foreign forced laborers. From March 1943, it was transformed into a sub camp of the Buchenwald concentration camp. There were about 800 prisoners from eight different nationalities in this camp. There are still various barracks that now serve as exhibition rooms. Furthermore, there is a monument commemorating the victims who perished in this camp.
