Festung Thorn - Fort XIV
This fort was built between 1888 and 1892 and is a component of fortress Toruń. During the German invasion of Poland, fortress XIV served as munition depot. After Poland capitulated and Nazi-Germany decided to establish 2 POW-camps (Stalag XX-a en XX-C) near Torun, Fortress XIV was appointed to serve as hospital for Stalag XX-A.
The fort today:
Fort XIV is property of the Polish army and is not accessible to the public.
