The Maginot Line's fort Saint Ours Haut was a part of the Secteur Fortifié du Dauphiné.
The garrison consisted of 240 men. The Italian invasion of this part of France was launched on 20 June 1940. Saint Ours Haut's 75mm guns, supported by fire from Roche Lacroix, stopped the Italian advance in this region.
