Slot Zeist is a 17th-century castle located in Zeist, Netherlands. It was built between 1677 and 1686 by Willem Adriaan van Nassau, a grandson of Maurits of Orange. The castle was designed in the Hollands Classicisme style by Jacobus Roman, the same architect who worked on Paleis Het Loo
During World War II, the castle was used by the German army. General der Fieger Kammhube's headquarters was based here. He created the night fighter defense system, the so-called Kammhuber Line.
The ordinary soldiers mainly stayed in the two wings, but this had that effect that a fire broke out in the left wing and was severely damaged, in the night from 8 to 9 february 1945.
After the war the castle was restored.
