Memorial Prisoners Stalag XVII-B

This memorial in Andersonville National Cemetery dedicates the American victims of the German prison camp Stalag XVII-B. The inscription on the stone reads:
"AMERICAN FORMER PRISONERS OF WAR STALAG XVII-B

Erected by and in honor of all Americans held prisoner of war in a German prison camp known as Stalag XVII-B in Krems Austria 1943-1945."


Below this text in a smaller letter type:

"And in memory of all Americans held as POW in European theatre in WWII."
