Barracks Muiden (Fort D)

The "Barracks Muiden (Fort D)" was built in 1874 as part of the New Dutch Water Line (which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site). It was also part of the Stelling van Amsterdam (Defence Line of Amsterdam, which is also an UNESCO World Heritage Site).

The fort was mobilized both in 1914-1918 (by the Unit Field Artillery) and in 1940.
