Lublin Castle

This castle served as transit camp during the German occupation (1939-1944). Between 40.000 and 80.000 inmates passed through the prison. In 1944, 300 inmates were executed by the retreating German army. The communist regime used the castle as special prison between 1944 and 1954.

The castle is part of the Lublin Museum.
