Brighton Borough Cemetery contains 31 Commonwealth war graves from the First World War and 8 from the Second World War including the graves of Victoria Cross winners George Burdon VC and Wilbraham Oakes Lennox VC.
This cemetery is also known as the 'Extra-Mural' cemetery as it was opened and operated in 1851 by the Brighton Extra-Mural Company as a private cemetery.
