War Memorial St. Margaret Church Lowestoft

This memorial, within the St. Margaret Church, commemorates the members of the parish who were killed or missing in the First World War (727 names).

During the 5th to 10th August 2014 the church held a exhibition to raise money for the renovation of this memorial and the chapel in which it is situated. The cleaning, repainting and repairs of both memorial and chapel have now been completed.
During the exhibition members of public/families of those listed were invited to view the memorial and donate to the church any additional information, copies of records/photos etc. This was so that the church could begin its objective aim of creating a complete record, that ideally would contain some information on each, so as when complete this records could be opened on a daily basis and prayers can be said for each individual listed.

A second plaque commemorates Major Thomas Walker Chambers Bringhurst (His Majesty's 30th Regiment of Foot) who gave his life in the Battle of Waterloo.
