Memorial Asnelles Gold Beach

The Asnelles Memorial at Gold Beach honors the British units who liberated their town.

The text on the middle plaque is:

The left side (English) reads:

JST BH Royal Hampshire Regiment
JST BH Dorsetshire Regiment
231 Infantry Brigade
under Command of Brigadier Sir Alexander Stanier
BG. D.S.O. M.C. of 50 Northumbrian Division
supported by other units of the British Liberation Army were the first
troop to land at Asnelles and le Hamel at 730 hours on D Day 6th June 1944
From here they started on their victorious advance to free
many towns and villages in France Belgium and Holland
and were the first British Infantry to enter Germany
