Kokoda Trail - Memorial Battle of Isurava

The Battle of Isurava was a part of the Kokoda Track Campaign (or Kokoda Trail Campaign) from July 1942 to January 1943, to stop of delay the Japanese forces on their way to Port Moresby by Australian troops.

At Isurava, the Australians were able to delay the Japanese forces for four days, while the Japanese outnumbered the Australians by 5:1. There were great losses and because of lack of ammunition the Australians could nog longer stop the Japanese forces.
