PLUMETOT, NORMANDY, FRANCE. 1-31   Outward mails being despatched daily, but apparently owing to dislocation in the G.P.O. these mails suffered serious delay before reaching addressees.
12   To alleviate the “small change” problem at my F.P.Os it was suggested that the 50 cents token introduced by NAAFI for the sole use of their customers be allowed to be used at F.P.Os.
13-14   Services Normal.
15   F.P.O. serving all Units of 3 Br Inf Division detached from 96 D.I.D. at LUC-SUR-MER to Admin Area at PLUMETOT consequent on the cessation of Unit drawing in 1st line from this D.I.D. and the commencement of drawing supplies from B.B.Ps.
16-17   Services Normal.
18-19   Correspondence posted by HQ 3 Br Inf Div, HQ 8 Inf Bde and Units, HQ 9 Inf Bde and Units forwarded as instructed to Censor Branch.
20   Services Normal.
21   To enable 3 Br Inf Div Units which are split, i.e. one part East (frozen), other part West of Canal de Caen following Postal arrangements made.
(1) Unit Post Corporals will report F.P.O. Admin Area 1030hrs daily.
(2) Post Corporals will segregate mail at F.P.O. and withdraw mail for Troops West of Canal de Caen and distribute.
(3) Post Corporals will hand back to F.P.O. all mail for Troops East of Canal de Caen.
(4) Mail for Troops East of Canal de Caen will be taken under R.E(P.S) arrangements and handed out to Unit representatives at Supply Points. If mail is received too late to be sent up to Supply Point a Postal Point will be established and notified.
21-22   No letter mail received. Planes unable to land due to unfavourable weather. Roads also extremely bad.
23   W.E.F. 1200 hrs today 3 Br Inf Division under Command 1st Canadian Army. No change in Postal arrangements or Services.
24   Services Normal.
25   Outstanding letter mail for 21st and 22nd received today.
26-29   Services Normal.
30   Very light letter mail received today.
31   Services Normal.
